A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a talented, meticulous and dedicated Chief Sub-Editor on a well recognised national lifestyle magazine. Based at the company's head offices in the East Midlands, you will be responsible for overseeing the magazine from raw copy through to print, and for managing the subs department. Previous experience in a similar role within a magazine environment is essential (newspaper editing experience will not be sufficient) with proven skills in generating and managing the office flat-plan and the repro house¹s electronic flat-plan system.You will be responsible for overseeing the pre-subbing, and subbing of all magazine pages and any covermounts to the highest standards, ensuring that all copy is factually and grammatically accurate and in-keeping with the magazine's tone of voice and house style, overseeing all internal and external approval processes, overseeing the repro/proofing processes, liaising with the repro house to ensure requested text amends are made and supervising the sub-editor and trainee sub-editor.
