Communications and Public Affairs Manager

Are you a whizz at comms with a real understanding of the public sector and how the political climate impacts economic development?  If so, this job is definitely for you.

The role

This is a new role to create, implement and oversee communications and public affairs activity for this leading regional organisation. You will be required to lead accounts for external clients in the public and private sector as well as deliver internal communications campaigns. This will involve coordinating public relations and public affairs activity as well as devising, managing and implementing proactive and reactive media relations across regional, national, trade and international media. You will develop and maintain close relationships with the communications and policy leads of key stakeholders and will play a leading role in the delivery of integrated marketing and communications campaigns, supporting them with the creation of messaging and content across marketing and social media channels. You will provide corporate communications, issues and crisis management when needed and will manage a team of 2.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who is highly experienced in public affairs and stakeholder relations with a strong understanding of the region’s political and economic environment who is very competent in media relations and is experienced in account management for a range of different clients and campaigns.  We also need you to have extensive experience of dealing with a wide stakeholder network and ideally have experience of working both within the private and public sectors

What’s on offer?

Salary of £35,000-£40,000 with excellent softer benefits.
