A manufacturer and supplier of consumable products based in Birmingham are looking for a Marketing Executive or Marketing Manager to kick-start their brand new marketing team.
The client is being open minded, and will welcome applications from Marketing Executives or Marketing Managers. That’s because this search is as much about finding the right person with the perfect attitude as it is about finding someone who meets the required skill criteria. You will be the first person in what will hopefully become a larger marketing team in the future. The Marketing Executive or Marketing Manager will have sole responsibility for introducing and implementing marketing strategies, predominantly focusing on taking products to market. You’ll generate and support general marketing strategy with Sales and Product Development teams, manage and update marketing content, measure the effectiveness of campaigns, write and review copy for marketing and sales assets plus coordinate marketing communications across business teams. You will be tasked with developing and delivering a range of online and offline marketing initiatives to raise awareness and sales of an award winning product portfolio as well as improving the marketing and communications across the wider business group. You will work closely with both the product design and sales teams to develop marketing strategies and expand new markets in the UK and abroad. So much of this company’s revenue comes from the online market place, so digital marketing will be a large part of your daily duties, including, ecommerce campaigns (solely managing them if you’re a Marketing Manager, supporting them if you’re a Marketing Executive), email marketing, social media, managing websites, dealing with external agencies, PPC and SEO.
What we’re looking for
It’s so important to this client that we find someone who will embrace this role whole heartedly and who wants to grow with the team. As you’ll be working alone, it’s imperative that you are confident working by yourself and display excellent common sense. There’s plenty of scope here to both develop new skills and to utilise the individual skill set that you bring to the table. If you are a Marketing Executive, perhaps looking for £20 to £25K, you will be a graduate who has a minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience working in a b2b environment, be confident enough to work with stake holders, and have experience of working on digital and traditional marketing collateral, particularly email marketing, updating web content, social media, ecommerce, producing brochures and attending exhibitions. You’ll be an excellent writer as well, able to confidently put together press releases and PR copy. If you are a Marketing Manager, everything we’ve just described still applies, but you must have experience of managing ecommerce campaigns, have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a b2b environment and be proficient with social media, website content management systems and advertising platforms.
