Specialist communications agency is looking for an experienced and talented PR Account Director to join their growing team, after a company expansion.
Due to the investment in infrastructure happening in Birmingham, this well-established, multi-sited PR agency, based in one of the premier addresses in the city, is now expanding further. Consequently, they need a PR Account Director to both work on new and existing accounts, and help them to establish and confirm their presence as they expand. The main responsibilities of this role will be to take a lead role in client relationships, account management, and budget management, direct projects and campaigns, manage and mentor junior team members, participate in industry events, conferences, and workshops, and grow and develop the business. You would also be expected to act as a guardian for the agency’s culture and brand, and to lead in articulating and promoting their values, brand position, and quality standards.
What we’re looking for
You will have significant experience in PR and communications, having risen through the ranks in an agency environment (or an in-house PR / communications department), with experience operating at PR Account Director level. You will need a demonstrable track record in developing client relationships, managing client accounts, projects, and campaigns, managing budgets and achieving profitability targets, directing, designing, and delivering communications strategy from client briefs, providing strategic advice to clients, delivering media relations and social media strategy, managing journalist relationships, engaging with stakeholders, managing and leading a team, and delivering public affairs strategy. On top of this, you should have exceptional interpersonal skills, strong new business development skills, and an in-depth understanding and knowledge of consultancy practices, communications techniques and channels, media and social media, and public affairs. Knowledge of B2B PR techniques would be an advantage. Similarly, while experience in the infrastructure and development sector is not a prerequisite, it would be very advantageous – and an active interest in this sector is required.
What’s on offer
The salary on offer for this role is between £40,000 and £60,000, depending on your level of experience. This agency is extremely successful, and will continue to be so as it expands. So if you have all the required experience and are looking for a new and challenging role in which you can make a real different in building a company presence, don’t hesitate.
