PR & Social Media Executive

Brief Overview

This is an opening with one of Europe’s largest manufacturers of industrial products to develop and implement creative social media activity that will have a positive impact for their brand, drive stakeholder engagement through a number of social platforms, creating original content and drawing on wider campaigns. It will initially be a 6 month contract with a view to becoming permanent.

The role

This role is new to the organisation and therefore has plenty of scope to develop and shape the content of the role, and the primary focus will be to optimise the activity and engagement of their Twitter accounts; aid in the launch of Facebook pages; and consider the viability of launching across other platforms such as Instagram and Pinterest. This will include, liaising with the PR team, Marketing & Comms teams and HR to gain a wide overview of the types of activity the company is undertaking. The social media activity will cover CSR activity; industry-focused content; coverage of any sponsorship and events; and consumer-focused content. Some content will be created specifically for social, and some content will be designed to integrate with and support larger mixed media campaigns.

Day to day, you will work alongside their PR and Marketing Agency and the wider team, and plan the social media strategy and undertake research to assess the size and best way to reach their various target audiences across various social platforms. You will create innovative content and creative collateral in the form of articles, blogs, vlogs, photography, video etc. for Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn with the option of expanding into YouTube, Pinterest and Instagram. You will also brief design teams and collate assets for social media content and campaigns; attend client meetings & events, and ensure the social media presence constantly updated.

What we’re looking for

Educated to degree level or equivalent (pref. Marketing or Business), and needless to say a keen and active interest in social media & solid experience using social media management tools. You’ll most likely possess 2 years’ experience of managing business social media accounts, with examples of managing socially driven campaigns, preferably gained in a B2B environment. Consumer marketing experience is advantageous too, and agency experience is a bonus but not essential. Strong organisational & interpersonal skills are vital and a willingness to travel with some overnight stays necessary (UK based).
