As Account Director, your key role, initially, will be to work alongside the owner and oversee and lead exceptional client services and creative teams, focusing on creating a positive working culture that is collaborative. The additional focus of this role will be to harness relationships with three or four key clients and contribute to the continual development of the agency. Typical projects will range from full re-brands and marketing literature to a full range of digital projects. You will ensure the provision of excellent standards of service to clients, paving the way for continued growth, expansion and profitability. You’ll bring big ideas, leadership skills, and diplomacy together to help guide your team and make it the best it can possibly be. The leader of this agency is hands-off in style, so you’ll have plenty of scope and rope, but at the same time they need someone that they can entrust with the commercial side of the role. It will also involve all recruitment of people, as well as their development and training, in addition to developing the further growth of the agency.
As time moves, and as your knowledge and commercial awareness build, you will have the opportunity to take on a full leadership role to drive the agency forward. This will most likely happen within 2-3 years so there is longevity and opportunity attached to this role.

To succeed in this Account Director role, you’ll need that magic combination of being intuitive and empathetic to build solid relationships, both internally and externally, and a commercial mindset to harness and develop a client base. You’ll be playing a significant role within the agency, and their success has been underpinned by keeping great internal relationships, so you’ll need to appreciate this ethos and these values. You’ll be at ease with developing client accounts, from both a creative and commercial perspective, and be able to see ways of generating revenue when possible.
It is essential that you have acquired a fair few years’ experience in an agency based role, and we are keen to hear from an Account Director who is moving up in their career and wants to make the right step, not just any move. Marketers with in-house and agency experience will be of distinct interest, this is a long term move for someone that has that inner drive to take over the reins of an already successful agency.
What’s on offer?
A salary of between £50,000 – £60,000 (which isn’t set in stone) plus bonus and wider benefits and this will rise over time.
