Content Manager

Brief Overview

Since their inception, this independent content marketing agency has grown consistently, picking up a few awards along the way, and because of this, are looking to add a Content Manager to deliver intelligent, quality writing pieces that appeal to target audiences and boost brand awareness.

The role

As part of the delivery team, you will be responsible for crafting content that enriches the client’s communication channels. From research reports to opinion pieces, and in-depth features for a specific publication through to thought leadership blog posts and general marketing copy. It also requires the creation of content in easy to digest forms, taking technical, often complex topics and translating into engaging, value-added content, drafted to grab the attention of the reader. The role also involves making time to help other team members understand the topic, openly sharing information and learnings obtained through the research phase.

In some instances, on specific clients and content briefs, an understanding of basic SEO techniques is required. You will also be in part responsible for the execution of media relations activity, through pitching in a synopsis to secure opportunities, through to building relationships and links with key journalists and associations. It’s expected that the outreach team will still handle product press release and colour separation sell ins but the in-depth, research-based pitches and features are best placed with the content team.

What we’re looking for

In brief, a good three years in the content marketing space, agency or client-side but must be B2B, as well as a strong record of curating the delivery of diverse content-based projects from concept to execution. Exposure to the built environment, interiors or the construction sector would be an advantage.

You must also have an ability to oversee the production of compelling B2B content across various formats and channels, such as research reports, blogs, white papers, video, social media, etc.  Educated to degree level in ideally a marketing, journalism, or similar subject will also be advantageous. The ability to be able to conduct thorough research on the topics, to add value to the copy and quote additional sources is a given expectation.  Alongside generating new content ideas and suggesting alternative types of content to help engage the reader.
