Content Marketing Manager

This is an opening with an extremely well-established marketing communications agency based in the heart of Preston. With teams in PR, marketing,  design and print, and digital, they are focused on creating high-quality work for their clients, which include professional services, property, education, leisure, retail, public sector, and many more.

The role

The role of Content Marketing Manager is a diverse one, which will include client liaison, content planning, content writing, media relations, social media management, content distribution, and client reporting. The clients you’ll mainly be working on are from the education and property sectors and will include universities, colleges, property developers and architects, and on occasion, you will also be asked to support clients from other B2B sectors.

On a daily basis, you’ll act as the main contact and advisor to clients and help to create content and editorial calendars. You’ll also be generating ideas for client content, stories, and news pieces, and will be regularly writing compelling content for blog posts, case studies, and news releases. You’ll also be editing and proofreading existing content, liaising with journalists and media titles to secure coverage, and will be uploading content to client websites and third-party channels. In addition, you’ll be managing social media channels and will collaborate with design teams to produce high-quality visuals.

What we’re looking for

Our client is open to background; they’d consider candidates with experience which has been gained in a PR or marketing agency/department, or in a journalism/content role, and will consider applications from people with varying degrees of experience. Needless to say, you’ll need proven writing experience, especially in commercial sectors across different formats, and you’ll need a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office and WordPress or other Content Management Software, as well as expertise in social media platforms. It’s also important that you have sound knowledge of relevant media channels, can harness good relationships with journalists, as well as experience of pitching to the media.
