This Content and PR Manager role is with a trailblazer of a company that believes heavily in its marketing and internally is pretty much set up like an agency, so in some respects, you get the best of both worlds. They’re finance-led but work with a market like no other and include an eclectic mix of partners from the leisure, sports, fitness, lifestyle, and music sectors. Their growth has been measured and well-planned and you’ll be joining a marketing team that has put their website & business and the forefront of people’s minds.
When you hear finance, you may be guilty of thinking that the subject matter is a bit dry – but, these guys aren’t like that at all! They take a fresh approach to the market, and prefer to focus on the subjects they insure, rather than the insurance itself. And the products they insure vary enormously. Over the past few years, they grown significantly and organically, expanding the marketing team of 3 to 20. They have also recently taken the plunge and decided to take all digital in-house, hence why they’re looking to make this hire.
The primary purpose is to develop and successfully execute the Content and Digital PR strategy for their range of products, leading a team to ensure SEO and content targets are achieved. You’ll deliver insightful, engaging, and well-optimised content that delivers a high level of organic traffic, increases assisted conversions, and creates an optimal user experience.
You’ll also recruit and manage the Digital PR & Content team to ensure they deliver the required content and campaigns, developing and delivering monthly content schedule for all products, ensuring content plan aligns with SEO and broader marketing strategy, and all content is properly optimised based on keyword research.
You will contribute to the content schedule in the form of blogs, articles, product pages and press releases & help & guide your team, delivering digital PR campaigns, from ideation to outreach, in order to regularly secure links and coverage for all products. You’ll also recommend and execute an off-site content strategy to include blogger / influencer outreach, link reclamation and external content creation / guest posting on relevant content sites. You’ll develop a press office function that includes issuing company news when required, thought leadership and timely commentary/reaction to relevant news events, and create and nurture relationships with journalists and online publications.
What we’re looking for
Experience in a similar type of role such as content marketing, outreach, PR and communications or journalism, preferably in an agency environment. You’ll also need knowledge of researching, drafting, and publishing online content in a variety of forms, including news, features, blogs, and press releases & how to build relationships with journalists, influencers, bloggers etc that have resulted in link generation. A sound understanding of SEO principles, onsite keyword optimisation and other related digital marketing tactics as well as savvy when it comes to producing multimedia content.
A creative individual with a proven track record of producing campaign ideas as well as experience in using social media channels, primarily Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. You’ll have a nose for maximising PR opportunities by reacting quickly to breaking news and events in order to secure links and coverage & be able to deliver strategy for brand ambassadors.
Experience of content marketing and social media analytics, reporting and strategy is of equal importance as well as the ability to work with wider marketing team and external agencies or partners. Most of all, a self-starter who can guide & develop others and enjoys driving brand engagement and awareness.
