Digital & Social Media Content Creator 

Brief Overview

If you live for creating exciting and inspirational animations and video for social media, this is definitely a role which should appeal to you.  A pure content creator role, it won’t be your responsibility to post and administer what you curate, but that does mean you’ll need to be a self-starter and disciplined enough to generate ideas and then strategize how to realise them.

The role:

This role is working with a food retailer, wholesaler, and distributor with a network of over 250 shops throughout the UK, each with its own social media account. Historically, they’ve always taken a promotion led approach, but they’re looking to increase their community engagement with more niche campaigns (although promotions will always be an element of what you’re doing) as well as store openings.. It will be your role to develop creative ideas, suggest innovative ways of delivering digital content, which is in line with the Sales plan, as well as creating the content which will include video and simple animation.

You must work within the wider marketing strategy and the role is an integral function of all marketing and communications campaigns. Additionally, you’ll build relationships with colleagues instore providing them with encouragement, guidance, and training into what makes a successful social media post and will oversee their individual ideas to ensure branding consistency (the last thing you want is every store doing something different!).

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for someone with commercial experience of developing creative content for social media and digital platforms who is experienced with animation and video.  You’ll not only be an ideas-generator, you’ll be able to describe what you’re trying to achieve to your line manager in order to obtain creative approval.

You’ve also got to be realistic to deadlines and timescales as well as budget; it’s not enough to have the ideas if they’re not achievable.  You’ll be happy to visit stores to film, and if you had a love of food or shopping within the food sector that would be great! You’ll have experience of digital design packages (ideally Adobe) and will be familiar with social media management tools such as Hootsuite.  A driving license would be a distinct advantage for this role.

This really offers a chance to be creative; our client is crying out for someone with brilliant ideas.  The company offers a 50/50 hybrid working policy, and salary for the role will depend on experience, but is likely between £25-28,000.

There is travel as part of the role (fully reimbursed) and there is a rota for weekend social media cover (always pre-planned and paid ).  This is a brand new take on this role for the company and they’re really excited by the opportunity they have, hopefully you are too.
