Director of Marketing and Communications

Brief Overview

This national charity is looking for an entrepreneurial and commercial Director of Marketing and Communications to lead the next phase of their exciting development.

The role

Supporting the Chief Executive and Executive team, you will play a key role in the strategic development of the charity, planning up to 2 years in advance, but you’ll have the management skills to executive them and the experience to manage the ‘real-time’ media landscape. You will oversee PR, marketing, internal comms and graphic design functions with a team of 6, as well as working with the Donor engagement team, and the role will also involve income generation responsibilities with a focus on national media-led fundraising partnerships and digital campaigns. Additionally, with a significant increase in media and public interaction expected over the next 3 years, you will be involved with national and regional multiplatform media liaison. Key duties and responsibilities will include leading a marketing and communications strategy to complement the charity’s five-year plan which will include international, national, regional and local media liaison – developing and maintaining effective strategic partnerships with key media contacts. You will manage the charity’s celebrity ambassador recruitment to ensure maximum support as well as ensuring regular and effective donor communications.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for candidates with proven experience of managing marketing communications campaigns from strategy development through delivery and analysis, who has proven national media liaison experience from within a medium/large national or international organisation. You will have managed a team and will have proven experience of brand marketing and communications as well as experience of working with a variety of social media platforms and a good understanding of digital marketing principles. Additional desirable experience would include email marketing experience, knowledge of SEO and experience of producing and editing video content for a professional environment.
