This retail establishment is looking for an experienced Events Manager to join their team based in Manchester ASAP.
The Events Manager role
Usually, a role such as this would only be available in London! The overall purpose of the role is delivering an exciting and varied annual programme of events and activities, and creating marketing opportunities, to increase traffic and footfall. Duties of the Events Manager role will include researching, planning, delivering, and evaluating a broad range of consumer events, working closely with the management team and stakeholders to plan and deliver an annual programme of activity that fits the core business needs, developing commercial elements of events, managing the events team on the ground, liaising with internal marketing and PR teams and external agencies, and negotiating with suppliers.
What we’re looking for
The ideal candidate for the Events Manager role will have thorough experience, knowledge, and understanding of event planning / management and project management. You should have in-depth experience at a senior level of events management, ideally gained in the retail / consumer sector. You’ll also need budget management experience, a thorough knowledge of health and safety procedures, excellent communications skills, and a solid understanding of the events trade more broadly. Qualifications in health and safety, event licensing, and event management would be advantageous, but are not required; similarly, those with a shorter notice period would also be at an advantage.
What’s on offer?
The salary on offer will be between £35,000 and £40,000, depending on experience, alongside a range of other benefits. The role is initially offered as a 12 month fixed term contract, but does have the potential to become a permanent role.
