Senior Designer

Brief Overview

This is a credible opening for a Senior Designer to join a global firm that is a market leader in the provision of specialist engineering services to a wide range of industries and sectors.

The role

In essence, you will play a key role in leading and guiding a small creative team and take responsibility for the creative output of the firm, both online and offline.

The marketing department is a key element of the business, containing 15 members that act as a central resource for this global firm. You will be the guiding light on all creative projects, from concept to delivery. Day to day, you will work on a mix of online and offline projects which will relate to either existing or new brands – you’ll work on the latter from the ground up, so plenty of room to utilise your true creativity. The work will include everything from modern and finely executed printed material to engaging online assets as well as video, and the odd 3D project. You will ensure branding stays consistent across all mediums, and contribute ideas and design consultation to a mix of briefs. The environment runs along very similar lines to a B2B brand / integrated agency, so you’ll have the best of both worlds if you are looking to move from an agency to a client-side setting. A key part of the role will be to be work alongside other creatives and the wider marketing team, sharing ideas and working cohesively to create work that sets the creative bar very high. You will also be exposed to the development of new brands from concept, ensuring the seamless transition of briefs from idea to stage to fruition. You’ll be working on brands which lean towards a diverse target audience, and the style of design is extremely modern and simplistic.

What we’re looking for?

You will be proactive in thinking of new approaches and be able to look critically at design work to ensure the client objectives and consumer needs are satisfied. Your portfolio of work will be of a high standard, and you will most likely be operating in an agency environment, or in-house with a brand that must have a B2B edge to it. You’ll enjoy keeping up-to-date with what’s going on in design, and you’ll be able to look beyond a piece of creative and understand how imagery and words can evoke the desired reaction. More important, you will have a collaborative personality who works well within a team and it’s envisaged it will suit a creative with around 5 years’ experience who wants the challenge of taking ownership of a creative domain within a B2B environment.

Salary is being pitched around £35,000 – £40,000 but is not set in stone & you will benefit from working in a global firm that can offer solid benefits, stability, and career development. You will also gain the best of both worlds – although it is a client-side role you will work on multiple projects at one time for the various companies groups and stakeholders.
