Senior Designer
Brief Overview
Big role, small design team, Lots of creative scope. We’ve got a fabulous opportunity for an experienced Designer to join one of the region’s leading leisure and entertainment specialists. This is a business with a seriously varied portfolio of venues, events and experiences – which means the creative work is anything but repetitive. The design team sits within a much larger marketing team, so you’ll have a really big role to play. It’s really functional design work, not just branding work so being an allrounder is going to be really important.
The role:
So what will you be doing? Pretty much everything you’d expect from a senior design role, and quite a bit more. You’ll take projects from the initial brief and big idea right through to final delivery, creating work across: campaigns and advertising, brand identity, digital and social content, websites, CRM and paid media, print and marketing materials, venue graphics and signage, presentations and corporate comms and potentially some motion ,video and animation too. In other words you’ll be as comfortable designing for a screen as you are designing that ends up in the real world.
You won’t simply be handed a brief and told to get on with it. We’re really looking for someone who wants to understand why something is being created, who the audience is and what the business is trying to achieve – and then bring your ideas to the table.
There’s be plenty of opportunity to challenge briefs, develop concepts and present your thinking, and ultimately make the work better.
What we’re looking for:
We’re looking for an experienced designer – ideally with around five years’ experience from either an agency or inhouse environment – somewhere that you’ve been able to be creative, but also shows your really varied portfolio. Software-wise Adobe Creative Cloud is essential (Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop especially) but you’ll also need experience with Figma and digital design.
You’ll be able to work across multiple channels and formats and you’ll have the confidence to take ownership and work autonomously. You’ll also be able to manage multiple projects without losing the plot!
Experience in motion, video, animation or other emerging creative technology would be a bonus.
What’s on Offer?
You’ll be joining a genuinely varied and fast-moving business where there is plenty to get your teeth into. You’ll work alongside a plethora of inhouse marketers and commercial people as well as creative and production partners.
The role is hybrid, 3 days in, and the salary is £35-40,000 depending on experience.
If you’re a designer who lives for variety, enjoys getting stuck into a brief and wants a role where your ideas will actually be listed to , this could be a very good one.
