PR Account Director
Brief Overview
Some PR roles are about keeping plates spinning. This one is about helping decide which plates should be spinning in the first place.
We’re working with a grand B2B agency that’s built a reputation on substance, not hype, who help complex businesses tell better stories. Their clients operate in sectors where credibility matters, buying cycles are long and audiences are notoriously difficult to impress. That’s exactly why clients trust them.
The role
The agency itself strikes a rare balance. Ambitious without the elbows. High-performing without the burnout. Serious about delivering exceptional work, but equally serious about creating an environment where people enjoy coming to work.
They’re now looking for a PR Account Director to help lead the next chapter of growth. This is a role for someone who enjoys being in the thick of it. You’ll act as a trusted adviser to senior clients, shape communications strategies, mentor a talented team and play a key role in growing both accounts and the wider agency. You’ll be as comfortable challenging a client’s thinking as you are coaching an Account Manager, pitching a new idea, or spotting a commercial opportunity others have missed.
The work spans media relations, thought leadership, executive profiling, content, social and integrated campaigns, often within technical sectors where curiosity and strategic thinking matter far more than flashy marketing jargon.
You
You’ll bring significant agency experience, strong commercial instincts, and a track record of building lasting client relationships. You’ll understand how PR contributes to wider business objectives and be able to demonstrate the results to prove it.
Equally important is your leadership style. They’re looking for someone who develops people, creates confidence and raises standards without creating pressure for pressure’s sake. Someone who can lead from the front while remaining approachable, supportive and human.
Experience within sectors such as technology, engineering, construction, manufacturing, telecoms or broader B2B environments would be particularly valuable, although a naturally inquisitive mind & the ability to quickly understand complex industries are just as important.
Why this one?
Because genuinely good Account Director opportunities are surprisingly rare. Hybrid working, a salary of between £50-55k & many other benefits to make your life easier.
You’ll join an agency where your opinion carries weight, your development continues and your success is recognised. A place where smart people collaborate, clients value the work and growth doesn’t come at the expense of culture.
In short, if you’re looking for a senior PR role where you can shape strategy, influence clients, develop people and still enjoy Monday mornings, this could be worth a conversation.
