Designer

Brief Overview

Since their inception over 20 years ago, this British-owned family company boasts a national and international reputation for product excellence and staff retention. Their studio now stands at a very healthy 10 designers and they’re now looking to add an additional Designer due to continued growth. They sit within the manufacturing sector, and their creativity has been a massive part of their ability to grow and develop as an international business.

Based in a modern and purpose-built office space, the company is very much built on people, and each individual makes a unique contribution to the business and its customers. This is a relatively junior role, so if you’re looking to kickstart your career, this company is one of the very best places to be.

The role:

This is a Graphic Designer role and you’ll produce production-ready artwork across a range of media by taking a design concept and creating a final output so it can be used in projects and content. The role has a lot of print elements as well as the opportunity to be involved with digital and web projects, but it could also include flyers, packaging, etc. On top of that, there’s a lot of photography clipping and retouching, packaging artwork and labels, as well as creating really visually engaging leaflets and literature.

On the digital front, you’ll handle website updates, as well as managing and updating an in-house library of files and imagery, and will be creating web assets to size and scale.

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for a Designer with a minimum of 6 months experience, but probably up to a couple of years for this role, personality is going to be key as is a clear design talent. The last four recruits within the team all started as entry-level graduates before moving up the ladder – and they’ve all stayed which is the factor which should appeal to you most.

Obviously, you’re going to be skilled with Adobe including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat and perhaps Easy Catalogue (not essential), and you’ll be able to show real creativity through your portfolio. You’ll be well-organised and hard-working and able to work on your initiative alongside great time management skills.

What’s on offer?

This is a brilliant opportunity to work with some hugely talented designers in a large studio environment and the opportunities for developing your career shouldn’t be underestimated.  Salary will depend on experience and is between £22,000 – £26,000.

This is a fully office-based role and you’ll need to be able to get to Tamworth daily.  There’s a real dedication to training and development, and this company goes out of its way to make its office environment a nice place to be.
