The role

These aren’t massive so no deep layers to stem the flow of creativity & you’ll work in tandem with key people.  Your main remit will be to oversee and guide a small creative team, and external suppliers & freelancers, ensuring design is developed and executed peerlessly. You’ll be involved in key commercial decisions, taking a creative lead on the company’s current clients and emerging new ones, bringing a sense of calm and cohesion to the team.

Of key importance is setting the creative bar, high; you’ll be given ample room to do this because the creative element of this business is a critical and respected discipline. Above all else, you’ll ensure branding is consistent across all mediums, both online and offline, which will see you working with a range of media, from photography and print to interiors, web, and many other assets.

You’ll love working on an array of projects, from brochures and exhibition support material to websites & other digital channels. It’s important that you are just a happy working on the agency’s “bread & butter” as well the perceived more high-profile jobs.

What we’re looking for

No egos or bureaucracy is what this agency is all about & this role requires someone who is happy to muck in, isn’t precious, and can set a trend or style rather than simply follow.  You can see the brand experience and not just the collateral, and who has a history or is capable of going outside the lines of a tried and tested path. Above all else, you can demonstrate experience of setting the creative bar high, and quite simply, enjoy your craft.

Given the mix of creative work this company produces, a current branding or integrated agency background is important. While a fair clump of experience is important, the depth and quality of your work, the brands on which you have worked, and your commercial savvy are more important considerations. You will be on the up in your career, able to work peerlessly across both offline and offline touchpoints, and capable of creating a worthy culture of engagement and openness.

You should be both brand and digitally savvy, with the ability to pull all parts of a campaign together, and to mentor and guide a design team. The quality of your work must be visually sublime, but it must also reach and resonate with the target audience. We would lean towards a candidate with first-rate creative knowledge, an innovative portfolio, and experience of working with B2B & B2C brands that has been gained in an agency setting.
