Marketing Executive – 12 month FTC
Brief Overview
Marketing roles don’t always offer the opportunity to take real ownership of an entire marketing function. This one does.
We’re working with an established B2B business that is bringing its marketing activity in-house and looking for a hands-on Marketing Executive to take responsibility for making that happen. It’s an opportunity to build, develop and run the day-to-day marketing operation, working closely with senior management and the sales team, with the freedom to make your mark and see the results of your work.
So what will you be doing?
It’s a genuinely varied position, covering everything from content creation and social media through to email marketing, paid advertising, website development and lead generation.
You’ll be responsible for planning and delivering marketing campaigns, creating LinkedIn content, newsletters and case studies, and using AI tools to support research and content creation. You’ll also need to ensure everything is accurate, on-brand and ready to go, rather than simply relying on AI-generated content.
There will be plenty to get your teeth into across digital marketing too. You’ll manage LinkedIn and Google advertising campaigns, monitor budgets and performance, and look for ways to improve cost per lead and conversions. You’ll also take ownership of the website, developing landing pages, improving SEO and creating new sector-specific content to support the wider marketing strategy.
A big part of the role will be ensuring marketing activity translates into genuine business opportunities. You’ll manage the marketing database and CRM, oversee incoming enquiries and make sure qualified leads are passed to the right people within the sales team. Reporting will also be important, with responsibility for monitoring campaign performance, measuring results and demonstrating the contribution marketing makes to business growth.
What are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone with a marketing degree (or similar) and previous experience in a marketing role, ideally within a B2B environment. You’ll need to be comfortable working across social media, email marketing and paid advertising, particularly LinkedIn and/or Google, alongside excellent written communication skills. The ability to explain technical subjects in a clear and engaging way will be important.
You’ll also need to be confident using AI tools for research and content creation, but have the judgement to question, check and refine what they produce. Being comfortable with data, understanding campaign performance and knowing when something needs changing will be just as important as having creative ideas.
Above all, we’re looking for someone organised, proactive and happy to take ownership rather than waiting to be told what to do.
Experience with HubSpot or another CRM would be useful, as would knowledge of WordPress, SEO tools and Google Analytics 4. Canva or similar design skills and some short-form video editing experience would also be advantageous. Previous experience within engineering, construction, industrial or equipment hire sectors would be beneficial, although isn’t essential.
What’s on offer?
You’ll be joining an established business at an interesting point in its development, with the opportunity to take ownership of its marketing activity and have a tangible influence on future growth.
The position is initially offered on a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the intention of reviewing the role before the end of that period and the potential for it to become permanent.
The salary is £30,000–£32,000, and the role is full-time, Monday to Friday, 3 days in the office.
If you’re a commercially minded Marketing Executive who enjoys variety, likes getting stuck into the detail and wants the opportunity to make a role your own, this could be well worth exploring.
